It seems that both Korean popstars BoA and Se7en had gotten high publicity from Forever 21 and Myspace respectively. BoA is featured on the home page of Forever 21 with her song playing, and Se7en was featured on the home page of Myspace yesterday under the “Music” category (it seems to be gone today).
We are excited about these promotions and wish both of them the best of luck!
After Sidewalks TV interviewed BoA in English last October, they will be interviewing her once again! If you’d like to ask her any questions, head over to this post. Don’t forget to tell them that Danny Truong/Danzo referred you! Questions will only be allowed until March 15 at 10PM (PST), so it would be best if you acted quickly.
In the meantime, the full version of BoA’s “I Did It For Love” has been released on iMeem, where BoA is featured on the main page. Also, her U.S. debut album is also up for pre-order on iTunes! Remember, the album drops on March 17 in stores.
With the date for her debut U.S. album drawing nearer every day (March 17), Avex has kindly provided us with previews of each of the songs. See if you can catch some familiar tunes! (“Did Ya” samples “Buddha’s Delight” from “Music and Lyrics,” “Scream” has parts of Anyband’s “Daydream,” and “Girls On Top” is the hit title song from her latest Korean album – in English!)

Both BoA and Se7en are looking to embark on a new mark in their careers by trying to break into the American music market. With music video teasers of BoA’s “I Did It For Love” featuring Sea Garrett and Se7en’s “Girls” with Lil Kim, it’s easy to see that there is indeed some friendly competition.
Se7en’s single “Girls” will be available online starting March 10, while BoA’s first album is already available for preorder on sites such as Amazon, BestBuy, Target, and is expected in stores on March 17.
Which do you like better?
Seoulfull wishes them both the best of success.
At BoA’s first U.S. album release party at Zune in Los Angeles on March 3, a music video preview for “I Did It For Love” was released. She continues promoting her album as it drops on March 17, and on that day she’ll be signing at the Virgin Megastore in Los Angeles, and another signing on March 19 at the Virgin Megastore in San Francisco (lucky Californians!).
Additionally, her official website has been updated to being promoting his debut album, “BoA.”
BoA, a #1-charting pop star from Asia who boasts nearly 20 million albums sold world wide, is gearing up to launch her brand new single, “I Did It For Love” with top US hit-maker, Sean Garrett.
Recorded in Atlanta, GA with Grammy nominated Garrett, who is responsible for #1 hits by Beyonce, Fergie, Nelly, Ciara and more, “I Did It For Love” will be the launching pad leading into her self-titled album, “BoA,” set to arrive in stores on March 17, 2009 on SM Entertainment. The album will release worldwide on that day in the US, Korea and Japan. A video for the single was shot in Los Angeles last week by famed video director Joseph Kahn.
For her debut US album, “BoA,” BoA enlisted the help of top US and Asian hit-makers to bring a unique blend of chart topping hits to the table. Garrett returns with the club banger “Energetic” where BoA celebrates breaking limits and letting her hair down! Brian Kennedy, who has created hits for top recording stars including Rihanna, produced “Obsessed” while Henrik Jonback, brought his Pop expertise to the table with the chart topping “Eat You Up,” “Look Who’s Talking” and “Hypnotic Dancefloor.” Jonback, a new producer, has written several hits for Britney Spears including “Radar.” Bloodshy & Avant , who produced “Did Ya” and “Touched,” have produced several hits for Britney Spears, Madonna, Jennifer Lopez, Jordin Sparks, Kylie Minogue and more.
On February 16, 2009, a one minute and thirty second snippit of “I Did It For Love” will be released to BoA’s fans via all of her social media pages and her official homepage including myspace.com/BoAmusicusa, facebook.com/BoA/28159122771, imeem.com/BoAmusic, ilike.com/artist/BoA, youtube.com/BoAmusicusa and BoAamerica.com. Additionally, “BoA” can be preordered on Amazon.com beginning February 16, 2009.
BoA will be included in the widely popular iTunes 360 campaign beginning March 10, 2009 and running for two full weeks.
BoA, now 22, has enjoyed an extremely successful nine-year career in Asia where she has released eleven #1 albums.
Thanks to Jen Goldberg!
As the date for BoA’s first U.S. album draws nearer, here’s a preview of the first track, “I Did It For Love,” a song completely written and produced by Sean Garrett.
It’s kinda digitized, but for the most part I really like what I’m hearing!
BoA’s U.S. debut song “Eat You Up” has risen to #8 in the Billboard Hot Dance Club Play Chart. She moved up 4 spaces from #12 last week, signaling her first Top 10 entry. In November last year, when the single first came out, she was #42.
She plans to release her first U.S. debut album into American mainstream on March 17.
