‘BOF’ Jang Ja Yeon Commits Suicide … Last Phonecall, “I Want To Die”

Recieving much attention for her role as part of the villainous trio in KBS ‘Boys Over Flowers,’ actress Jang Ja Yeon stuns everyone by committing suicide in her home on the 7th.

The police revealed that “Jang Ja Yeon was discovered to have committed suicide by her sister today at 7:30PM who reported the discovery to the police,” and “Jang Ja Yeon died by hanging herself at the staircase and no suicide notes or any other effect has been found so far.”

Close friends of Jang Ja Yeon say, “Recently Jang Ja Yeon was facing contract renewal problems with her management company and deeply troubled by problems in the drama among other things,” and also, “Today at 2:30PM, there was a phone call in which she said it’s too difficult and I want to die.”

Hearing the sudden sad news of Jung Ja Yeon’s suicide, Lee Min Ho, Koo Hye Sun, Kim Bum, Kim Joon and the rest of the cast of ‘Boys Over Flowers’ plunged into shock.

Jang Ja Yeon started out in 2006 appearing in a commercial for biscuits then she debuted with a small role in a drama and moving onto currently popular ‘Boys Over Flowers’ where she was recognized for her role as part of the villainous trio.

I think it’s a curse..Or the drama is jinxed..
Isn’t add that ALL 5 main characters got into car “accidents”
So now that the main characters are too hard to take out the curse moved onto the supporting actress…
I mean who would commit suicide over contract issues that could be fixed?

Most Koreans commit suicide because they don’t believe in God and don’t have faith. This is not much surprising to me. If they will only seek God, there’s nothing to worry about it.

@raven: Please get your facts straight… like other nations, there’s a percentage that do believe in God and a percentage that don’t. A majority of Koreans do believe in God. I am Korean and I am Christian. It sounds to me as if you are a bit bitter towards Koreans so it would be much more beneficial to us if you wouldn’t leave stupid comments like that here anymore-or anywhere in fact. (Oh, and by the way… explain why the rest of the world commits suicide? Are Koreans the only exception then?)

Sorry to everyone else, I just get mad at people who say racist things like that (even if it’s subtle).

As I have watched BOF, the trio villains caught my attention especially Jang Ja Yeon..i still remember her english lines, “Ohh My God” to Jian Di. The sad truth is in the contract, that she was pressured and forced to sign… They wouldn’t let her leave the office until she signed it and they beat her if she didn’t sign. The contract had outrageous things written in them such as, she must drink with them and sleep with them. The people in the company are gangsters… All the proof is in her letters she wrote before she died… It was all on the newpaper and news.

seeing that she was abused in that way, how can u possibly say you have no sympathy for her. please, do some research before saying things like that. if you were forced to sleep with some ugly middle aged man, and got threat txtmsgs …you’d feel like dying too…the worse thing was that there were no higher ups who would support her.

@allie, you are right suicide can happen anywhere and to anyone.

this is all too sickeningly tragic. so much mysteries surrounding this incident. be it true or false, i sincerely pray that the law enforcement will conduct a fair investigation. the thing is that the victim here no longer has a voice don’t you think she at least deserves to be heard. obviously she is making a statement from her grave. i hope they stop trying to authenticate the document she wrote before her death and start investigating this warped system regardless of the authenticity. those perpetrators should not have time to destroy evidence if any.

any why is the PD conveniently in japan and his phone is off/not contactable? so very fishy!!

noo..noo.. noo… why? why resort to suicide? i am sooo sad when i read this.. nobody deserves this. Such a beautiful, talented girl…she has so much to look forward to.

Lord Jesus, we pray that those people responsible for this – who drove her to it be brought to justice, expose them I pray… i ask that those manipulative, monsters be convicted! Give those in authority the wisdom and lead them to solve this in a short time. In Jesus’ Name, Amen!

I believe that all people have hope in their lives, but sometimes are broken by circumstances of life and the only solution is not to suffer more is the suicide. I also think we should have more respect and love with those around us.

I heard that it wasn’t because of contract problems, I heard it was because of her manager, who was beating her and forcing her to sleep around with CEO’s and media representatives so that she could book commercials and shows faster.

Supposedly, she blamed her manager on her suicide note :/.
